It happens from time to time. We have all said things in the heat of the moment that we later regret. Usually, an apology will suffice, but in an employment situation, it can have far-reaching consequences for both the employee and employer.
Are heat of the moment resignation or dismissals legally binding?
Resignations delivered amidst emotional peaks do not carry legal weight. In situations of heightened emotions, it's advisable to disregard such statements and refrain from behaving as if the employee has stepped down, for instance, by not dispatching their P45.
