Q. Good day, I really need your help. Can my employer force me to post about the company on my personal social media, change my profile pictures, and make everything company related? They also want me to change my personal laptop and self phone wallpaper to the company logo and sign a contract stating that i would do so or be fired.
A. Good grief -no! They are your private accounts and the company has no right to dictate to you what content to post or what images to display.
If the company supply your phone, laptop, email and social media accounts, that is another matter - they have a proprietary right to do so.
The fact that you must sign a contract agreeing to this should sound alarm bells. Is this really the type of company you wish to work for? If you have less than 2 year’s service they may dismiss you if you don’t sign and you can’t head of to an employment tribunal, but that may not be such a bad thing given that they wish to monitor you so closely!
Contracted hours
Q. I have a contract for 18 hours a week and my employer has my Woking hours on average as being 28 hours I have only started 3 months can I tell them I want to do my contracted hours.
