I recall having a meal in a Nepalese restaurant a few years ago when it was raided by Border Force officials who were tipped off that there were illegal workers employed by the restaurant. It was quite amusing seeing staff and Border Force running around looking for a swift exit!
It was mildly amusing watching the raid whilst enjoying my meal, but it should be remembered that the hiring of overseas workers without the right to work in the UK can have significant implications for employers. This practice, while not uncommon, carries risks and consequences that are essential for every employer to understand.
