Previously considered a futuristic notion, the concept of a four-day workweek is gradually becoming a practical aspect of today's employment landscape. Faculty members from Boston College are at the forefront of an important global study investigating this evolving trend. The non-profit organisation 4 Day Week Global, or 4DWG, initiated a worldwide pilot earlier this year, targeting enterprises and groups that have either transitioned to or are contemplating a shift to a four-day work schedule without diminishing salaries. Over 100 entities across the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and Ireland have engaged in six-month-long trials, with 4DWG providing guidance and support to facilitate the adoption of a shortened workweek.
