Care Homes and mandatory vaccines
When it comes to mandatory vaccination, it looks as though the NHS isn't going the same way as care homes. So, what now for care homes?
The big news of the week, aside from 14 parties, is that the government is going to do a U-turn over the NHS vaccination requirement. Currently all patient facing care staff will need to be double jabbed by 1 April 2022.
Why have we had the announcement this week?
It’s down to the fact that in order to fulfil the double jab requirement, the first jab must be administered by 3 February at the latest. Those who don’t have the first jab by this Thursday face the likelihood of receiving notice to terminate their employment as of 1 April.
